On behalf of University of Health Community, I am welcoming you one of the oldest universities in Somalia. The main campus of our university is located in Bosaso-Puntland Somalia. Our university was created in 2000, which started with only one program of Clinical nursing, has now grown into a highly respected, internationally recognized university, with eight faculties and the new campus that will offer numerous academic programmes in the coming future. Our past must be recorded and our achievements evaluated, but we must at the same time consider the challenges our university will have to face in the years to come so that we can ensure that the UOHS will become an even greater source of pride to all concerned. We must be strong enough to shoulder our heavy responsibilities and amanah of the founder of the institution, thus making the UOHS a shining example of health science centre for research and excellence academically in the community of Health. We offer a wide selection of official undergraduate degrees and master’s degrees in eight faculties of health science. In addition to the aforementioned, we also have an extensive course that the University’s own non-official programs. The university empower its academic staff to produce greater volumes of articles in cited journals, and established its annual journal to encourage greater adoption of innovative ICT tools in teaching, learning and research, to attract more renowned scholars and researchers to come to the university, and to be listed as a world class institution of higher learning. We hope that the university will continue to grow and to develop, and we hope to achieve our goal of becoming a leading university which seeks to restore the dynamic and progressive role of excellent producers of health professionals.
